THE WEEK IN GOLF
Lets look at the facts. Tiger Woods is thirty-six years old? Incorrect. My guess would be 40 plus. Internal age after three years of partying with porn stars and obviously not drinking diet coke and eating granola bars, ADD FORE. External Age, four knee operations blood spinning prescription drugs provided by his indicted doctor who was arrested for importing illegal drugs into the United States, ADD FORE.
Let us evaluate the opposition. Subtract twenty years, add the majority of young golfers as finally tuned professional athletes with a practice routine unparalleled on the Pga Tour. 300 yard drives a thing of the past. Kyle Stanley 5'11 165lbs, 340, and 376 yard drives in winning Phoenix Open. Add 50 percent of the field with the same ability and we have the end of the Tiger era.
Is this good for golf? Yes and No. The golfing public needs a hero and there is so much talent with the young stallions that if one professional could rise above the field this would be virtually impossible. If Tiger played with this competition he would never have the records that he reached during his phenomenal golfing career. Will I be watching to see if Tiger is actually superman, you betcha.
